PERLIS STATE YOUTH COUNCIL
BRIEF HISTORY
The State of Youth Council which was known in the beginning as the Malaysian Youth Council Perlis Branch was initiated by Encik Abdullah Marzuki, the Secretary General. At the beginning, it had only four affiliate members Scouts Association, 4B Youth Movement, Girls' Guide and MAYC.
After the nationwide student demonstration in 1974, this Council changed into autonomous body known as the Perlis State Youth Council. With this change, eight more State Youth Bodies namely St. John, Belia Pendidikan Islam, Belia Pembangunan, Puteri Islam, GPMS and Hindu Youth Organisation joined.
Among the well know personalities who contributed much to the success of this Council were YAB Dato' Ali Ahmad, YAB Dato' Jaafar Hussan, YB Encik Hussein Abdul Rahman, Tuan Syed Ahmad Syed Ali and Encik Johari Darus, State Culture, Youth and Sports Officer.
OBJECTIVES
1. To act as a co-ordinating body for all youth organisations in the state.
2. To act as a sole youth voice in matters pertaining to youth interests in the state.
3. To work closely with government agencies in the state in all youth matters.
4. To represent the state at national level in All MBM's activities.
