PAHANG STATE YOUTH COUNCIL

BRIEF HISTORY
Like the youth leaders of other State, the youth leaders of Pahang also had the intention to from an apex body to unite the various youth organisations in the State, to coordinate their activities ang to act as a united voice for the interest of the youth in the State.

With the above intention, the youth leaders in the State of Pahang started to make an effort as early as 24 March, 1980 to from a apex body whice they called Pahang State Youth Council. However, due to several problems they faced such as the need to make certain amendments they had to make to certain provisions in the constitution of the proposed Council., the transfer to other State of the youth leaders responsible for the formation of the Council and transfer of the office of the Registrar of Societies from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan hampered their efforts.

The youth leaders did not lose their interest and continued their efforts with more vigous. Finally, their concerted efforts bore the desired fruit when the Pahang State Youth Council was finally formed and registered on 2nd October 1985.

OBJECTIVES
1. To uphole and strengthen the principles of volunteerism and democracy in youth work.

2. To promote co-operation and understanding among youth joint activities.

3. To promote spiritual, physical and educational advancement through club activities.

4. To achieve the objectives of the Council without interfering with or involving in any political movement.

5. To act as action committee on youth affairs in dealing with any organisation or any Government agencies.

6. To co-operate with any Government department and agencies in lines with the constitution of the Council.
