GIRLS' GUIDE ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA
BRIEF HISTORY
The idea of guiding was first introduced in Malaysia in 1916 by Miss Gertrude, a teacher at the Methodist Girl School, Kuala Lumpur, Following this, Miss Mabel Marsh, the Headmastress at that school set up the first guide company called " Kuala Lumpur Guide Compony " under the petronage of YWCA.
Starting with only 28 members in 1917, the Girls' Guide Association of Malaysia has now a total membership 78,000 people throughout the country.
After getting a menbership recognition from the world Association of Girls' Guide and Girls' Scouts (WAGGCS), the GirlsGuide Association of Malaysia in playing a very active role at international level.
OBJECTIVE
The provide the girls with proper guidance through training and various outdoor activities in order to become good citizens who are loyal, disciplined, understanding, friendly and always willing to help others irrespective of their race, color and religion.
