GIRLS' GUIDE ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA
The idea of guiding was first introduced in Malaysia in 1916 by Miss Gertrude, a teacher at the Methodist Girl School, Kuala Lumpur, Following this, Miss Mabel Marsh, the Headmastress at that school set up the first guide compony called " Kuala Lumpur Guide Compony " under the petronage of YWCA. Starting with only 28 members in 1917, the Girls' Guide Association of Malaysia has now a total membership 78,000 people throughout the country. After getting a menbership recognition from the world Association of Girls' Guide and Girls' Scouts (WAGGCS), the GirlsGuide Association of Malaysia in playing a very active role at international level.
