MELAKA PORTUGUESE FOOD
There are many heritage dishes of the Portuguese community of Melaka that have survived until now. Among the famous dishes are ‘devil curry’, 'smur' and 'ambali'. Other delicious foods are for example 'feng', 'seku', 'muleh', 'croma', 'singang' and 'pikerdel'.
As for seafood, it includes 'baked shakap' which is fish mixed with flour baked in banana leaves, also 'kambrang frisi ku tamber inuk' which is spiced prawns eaten with tamarind sauce, 'beef vindalo', and 'baked pasi'. While for sweets or snacks there are such as 'spunch cake', 'pang susie', 'kanji chacha', tart, 'sesagong', 'aga-aga', 'dose de oves', 'bibingka koku', apom bakua, 'kacang ku jagre', glutinous rice ‘pulut tatal’, ‘pulut urap’ and ‘pulut serek kaya’ snacks, ‘putugal’, fried sago and others.
