PEOPLE'S MUSEUM
PEOPLE’S MUSEUM (1992)
The ground floor of the People’s Museum is divided into three parts, which focuses on the development carried out for the people’s benefits and the success attained by Melaka state. In addition, it also houses Melaka Sports Gallery, Community Gallery and UNESCO section to provide relevant information to the public.
KITE MUSEUM (1995)
The first floor displays the exhibits of the Kite Museum which was inaugurated in September 1995 by YAB Datuk Seri Mohd Zin bin Abdul Ghani, the former Chief Minister of Melaka. It reveals the history of kite creation until it is considered as a hobby today. This floor also houses the Wau Gallery, Traditional Games, Top Spinning Gallery as well as the Gallery of Datuk Wira Haji Md Borhan bin Yaman.
BEAUTY MUSEUM (1996)
The second floor displays the Beauty exhibition which was opened to the public in 1996 in conjunction with the Exhibition of Beauty Through Tortures, which was organized by Melaka Museum’s Corporation (PERZIM) in collaboration with the Department of Museums and Antiquities Malaysia. It was inaugurated by YAB. Datuk Seri Abu Zahar bin Ithnin, the former Chief Minister of Melaka. This exhibition focuses on the societies’ cultures around the world in enhancing the beauty of the human’s body. It covers a very long period of time, from the pre-historic to the present days. Some of these people interpreted beauty as a form of suffering and torture. Not only that, it also houses the Gallery of Tan Sri Haji Abdul Aziz bin Tapa and Eurasian Gallery.
