STRUCTURE OF THE HOUSE

The main house has a high roof top. It also functions or serves as a foyer at the front and a room. There is a little privacy space adjacent to the room. This room is used as a sleeping space for the head of the family, while the girls are placed in a second room at the kitchen.

The traditional Malay house has only one room for the girls. The men will usually sleep at the verandah in accordance with their role as leaders and family caregivers.

Consistent with its status as the home of a headman, there are two bedrooms for family members of men and women. The philosophy behind Islamic architectures is specified by separating the space between the men and the women while Qiblah plays an important guideline in its designs.

The iron bed complemented the sleeping chamber. There is not much information about this iron bed, but it is thought to be produced in 1920.
