TAN SRI DATO' KURNIA JASA OTHMAN BIN TALIB

Tan Sri Dato 'Kurnia Jasa Othman bin Talib was appointed to the first post of Melaka Chief Minister after the country achieved independence. Melaka was developed into a first-class trading port center for mobilizing the trading industry. For defense purposes, a RM30 million military camp was built in Bukit Perendendah capable of accommodating 3,000 Commonwealth military personnel. The Plan of the Malay and Chinese Placement Development in Kampendor and Solok Mengong worth RM 1 million was inspired by him. The construction of a 2,800-foot pipeline pipeline for the Melaka Port Terminal in Tanjong Kling was built to boost trading activities. He also established a housing plan of RM 20 thousand and a polyclinic for health facilities at Jalan Kubu worth RM 500 thousand was created. He also provided an allocation of RM 113,118.00 for Malay religious and cultural purposes.
