MALAYSIAN ASSOCIATION OF YOUTH CLUB

BRIEF HISTORY
The Malaysian Association of Youth Club was formed in 1953. In 1959 all state branches in all the state in Peninsular Malysai were formed. The district branches were formed in 1961.

The formation if this association was the result of the efforts of YAM Tunku Abdullah Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Encik Mubin Sheppard and Mr. A.R. Allen (Youth Adviser in the Ministry of Social Services). The total members of the Association now are 280,000 people.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the formation of this association are to coordinate the numerous youth clubs in the country and guide them through various activities so that their members become disciplined, skillful and become good citizen of the country able to contribute towards their own development and the society, religion and the country as a whole.

THE NATIONAL UNION OF MUSLIM STUDENTS

BRIEF HISTORY
The National Union Muslim Students (PKPIM) as it is popularly known, is the main national Muslim Student Movement to cater the needs of hundreds of thousands of Muslim Students throughout the Peninsular and fast Malaysia. PKPIM was founded in 1961 and was originally named Persatuan Kebangsaan Pelajar Islam Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. The National Union of the Federation of Malay State Muslim Students. It acquired its present name and structure after the formation of Malaysia in 1965.

In the course of its history PKPIM has gone through a lot important (through sometimes cricial and critical) yet cgallenging experience. There were times when PKPIM went through istances where it managed to manifest its aim towards increasing and upgrading its convictions and commitment in applying the strategy of da'wah and tarbiyyah (educating the masses).

PKPIM after realising the need to expand the Islamic conciousness to all levels of youth and the masses initiated the formation of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM), during its 1971 Annual General Meeting. PKPIM has also played significant role in the establishment if the International Islamic University (IIU), National University of Malaysia (UKM) and at the same time actually involved in all activities pertaining to the process of Islamization.

OBJECTIVES
1. To function as the representative body of Muslim Students of Malaysia.

2. To strengthen Islamic brotherhoodness and solidarity between the Muslim Students of Malaysia

3. To function as the main national body for students' movement in Malaysia and as coordinator of their activities.

4. To forward the Malaysian Muslim Students demand and problems pertaining to their academic, cultural, social and other endeavor to relevant authorities.

5. To render service to all students regardless of their religion, race, economic background, social life and language.

6. To work the betterment of the academic qualities of the Muslims Students and to fight the right to establish Muslim students' society at all levels of education.

7. To represent Muslims Student of Malaysia in National or International Islamic forums and to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and mutual cooperation with other organisations that have similar objectives and principles as that of PKPIM's.
