On the next day, the mandi mayang (areca flower ceremonial bath) will be held Cassava flowers will be taken down and soaked in a large earthernware jar overnight. The water is then mixed with lemon juice and seven different strongly scented flowers. The shaman will bless the water to keep away bad luck from the newlyweds.

Early in the morning, the newlyweds will be brought to the site of the ritual birth, where a special tent has been erected, accompanied by the joyous beating of drums and gongs. Upon arrival, the newlyweds will squat down before their parents douse the specially prepared bath water on them, accompanied by words of prayer. Once the bath is over, the newlyweds are required to take some food to show their gratitude and to symbolize the harmonious life that they will share.
