GALLERY OF DEMANG ABDUL GHANI
FUNCTION OF THE ROOM
This area is known as 'home kitchen’. Normally this space is used by the women in carrying out daily activities in line with the philosophy of traditional architectures that inhibit interactions between the sexes in accordance with Islamic teachings.
There is also a bedroom for the daughter. An open platform featuring architectures of Melaka’s traditional house serves as a space to dry paddy and a place to hold water. There are two small roofed doors covered with elements of Chinese architecture and the use of roofing materials from Netherlands.
The structure of the rectangular-shaped kitchen has a Dutch influence using 'v- shape tiles' roof or better known as 'chinese tiles'.
